Disk imaging only works if you have a working source disk identical to the hardware the image will run on.

Now you could use the Dell but the following things would have to exist:

1. You have a hard disk with an image built specifically for your notebook; this would not be your Dell's hard disk.
2. You have a laptop IDE adapter for the laptop's hard disk
3. You have boot disks that can initiate the disk imaging

The Dell would only serve as a hardware host. You cannot use Windows to disk image. All you are really doing is copying one disk to the other. You would have to disconnect the hard disk in your Dell and connect the laptop's hard disk and the other source hard disk up.

Can you get into the bios of the machine?
Can you turn on legacy USB support in the bios?
Can the machine boot off anything else? The memory stick?
If so, you can
If not your best bet it to take the harddrive out and connect it to another machine (either another notebook with a CD-ROM) or to a desktop using an adaptor. http://www.datapro.net/products/1920.html

and then
