Seem like they have abandoned R&D and just want to purchase other companies stuff instead of coming up with their own drugs. Have they no talent in R&D, if not how can buying other companies make them self sustaining?

I just read in Red Herring (a business magazine) that someone was trying to buy them out. Give me a few and I'll see if I can find the article again.
Additional Note: I did find it. The company was Johnson & Johnson and the Healthcare dept and the company's former headquarters was sold to them. The also announced plans to close the Ann Arbor facility by the end of next year.
Rumor has it (and this part was not mentioned in the mag), that Pfizer also plans to outsource or examine the benefits of using a 3PL for the items they are purchasing from other companies.
