I guess that might be a safety feature. Anyway, I put the battery back in but now the alarm emits small beeps like every two minutes or so. Why?

No no no . . .. I just changed the batteries two weeks ago . .it has something to do with me taking the battery out tonight just to keep it from going off.
I live in a small house. I have five smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector all with new batteries. I am not being careless people. And to whomever, I don't need cooking classes, thank you very much. And it's still beeping.

Smoke detectors will beep if something has been damaged or if they have been shut off and not reset, there should be a red or black button on the inside next to the battery, press it and hold it for three seconds, if this doesn't stop it you need to replace the battery and then reset.

PS some detectors made after 2001 have this reset switch on the outside of the casing, and it lights up red.

Hope this helps

Whenever a smoke alarm makes a small beeping noise for no particular reason it means that it is low on batteries and you need to replace the battery.

Your smoke detector is hard wired to your electrical system.
The battery is just a back-up power supply in case your whole system loses power. You get the beeping to let you know the battery level is low.Put in a new 9v battery and you will be ok
until you make another crispy meal.

In our town, we just buried a 31-year-old mother and her baby this week because she had taken the batteries out of smoke detector. Some smoke detectors are hard-wired to the primary electrical system and have a battery backup that keeps it active during power outages.

Probably wired to the the house because so many people remove the batteries. I run the fan when I'm cooking smoky foods.

It needs a new battery. That intermittent beep is the signal for a low battery.

It is telling you it is time to change the battery. Change it and take some cooking classes (lol).

Contrary to popular belief. A smoke alarm is not an indication that the food is done.
