Depends on your idea of superhuman. Eventually we may be able to enhance our speed, sight and possibly even intelligence by exploiting all of the genetic resources available in all of the species of the world. But it will always be limited by our biology, and the biology of the organisms we use as genetic sources. Enhance yes, but reach 'superhuman' X-man like capabilities, no.

PS, it's going to be a long long time before we can do this successfully and consistently as well.

What is quite amazing is that it is already possible: Gene Doping. These methods utilize a reverse transcript RNA that transcribes the RNA for the super human abilities back into the DNA. An example of Gene Doping is the Myostatin Inhibitor Gene which inhibits the production of Myostatin, a muscle growth inhibitor.

You would need the one who wrote you genetic code in the first place to be able to go into your genetic code and re-write it. This is the gag about "sex change" operations; their blood will still reveal themselves as the gender they were when born. You cannot re-write your genetic code yourself.
Mutations? Those disassemble and destroy, not improve.
