The head of the House of Representatives is the Speaker of the House.
The Vice President is technically the President of the Senate, but rarely attends except for ceremonial occasions and very important votes. The Senate elects a President pro tempore from their own number to 'fill in' - this person is effectively in charge of the Senate, and is usually the leader of the majority party.
