I'm only ashamed of our President and Vice President. Ok, and Fox News, but they're not really American.

Just a word to the Canadian, I was born there to but moved to the United States and became a citizen. I love America it represents freedom and hope to a great many people in the world that don't have any. Besides your sorry *** and the rest of Canada would have been taken over along time ago by some other 2 bit country if you didnt have the benefit of American protection. Last time I checked the mighty Canadian navy was something in the realms of 5 ships and I think the airforce may have maybe 20 new planes/ totally awesome! I would not be very smug with those kind of numbers. God Bless America

Most of the American know very little about things around the world ....American Media is the richest but has a very narrow perspective and has forgotten the journalistic responsibilities. They just inform what the citizens needs to know as determined by the government.
That was about the availability of information.......but who cares....an average American lives a very tragic life ...paycheck to paycheck........he doesn't have time or interest in any thing other than his own life........most of them are so much self centered they don't even think about their kids......exceptions do exist......He is addicted to credit and never get rid of it.
Then the politics and business is dominated by Jews and Israelis control the nation rather than Americans.......today it seems like America is a puppet in the hands of Israel. The recent conflicts in middle east ...and ....many more happenings...would make an American ashamed of being American .....
America has given the world a lot of things.....but on this earth nothing remains great for ever......Rome Egypt and others had been great for long years....but not for ever.....there are ups and downs ....if we don't take charge of our future....we will loose our greatness in no time.
If you are not Ashamed ...it means u are not understanding what is happening around.....Are u?

When Americans talk about being 5% Irish, etc. It's because it's a GIVEN that they're American. Americans tend to talk more about their heritage than other countries, because there's such a mix here. If you're in France, you get the French. Period. In America, yes, we're all Americans, but we all have a close history will every country in the world.

America does not provide an ethnic identity. It has been said that someone from China can become an American but an American cannot become Chinese. Being interested in and even proud of our ancestry does not mean we are ashamed to be American. The fact is we do carry DNA from our ancestors and who we are is influenced by who they were. In a way we are like adopted children. We love our adopted family but we still want to know who our birth parents were.

I love being American!
I am made up of at least 12 different nationalities (that we know of) because my family came here in the 1600's.
Actually, when I have travelled abroad, I have such a "mutt" look to my face that everyone assumed I was American before I ever spoke and was wearing clothes I bought there.
My hubby even has some African in him 6 generations back and I think that is so cool.
We are truly a melting pot in my own family.

Habit. America was a very segregated country where Italians lived together, the Irish, the German, the Swedes all separated along ethnic/national lines and we still think that way for the most part.

we are no longer ashamed of being American. this is only that all of us have distinctive backgrounds so we are no longer each and each of a similar race. inspite of the incontrovertible fact that if i'm in yet another united states, and somebody inquire from me what i'm i visit assert American. If somebody asked My ethnicity then I say black, and while they want to be attentive to if i'm mixed with something, then I smash it down. it is fairly a competent question, i assume for somebody of yet another united states this might look somewhat unusual. nicely anyhow, maximum persons are( for a loss of a greater advantageous be conscious) 'Mutts' we are no longer likely organic something and we are happy with it. So while somebody says they're a million/4 irish only think of of them as giving their props to eire.

I can be just as proud of being an American as I am proud that my PARENTS are from another country. My heritage makes me what I am, but I still love my nation - America.

I don't think it's that they are ashamed.I think alot of people are ignorant to the fact that the country their ancestors are from has little if anything to do with their genetic background.Just like whenever I tell anyone That my family name is french and there are Irish people in my bloodline they don't belive me because I have brown skin.VERY ignorant.
