As a photographer, yes -- I shoot "glamour" type shots quite often.
Those mass-production places in malls that do them will occasionally make a good one, but like any other quick-turnaround business they're focused (pun intended) on quantity, not quality. You could get lucky and get a nice one, or not -- with only a few minutes to do the shots, it's going to be pretty hit & miss.
For just a few $$ more, you could have a professional photographer do a shoot for you -- we use professional makeup people, we are better at working with models and subjects, and we'll spend however long it takes to get the right shot. Talk to some pros in your area to check it out -- some may even do the shots for free, to build their portfolios.

Glamour Shots are wonderful! You will enjoy having them taken and when you are 50 years old you will be glad that you had them done. Its a wonderful way for girls and women to play dress-up! My pictures were beautiful (I know I don't look like that, but it was fun for a day!) Enjoy your femininity!

No, but you can spot a "glamour shot" from a mile away. They all look the same. Cheesy.

Mine turned out pretty well. They didn't do my hair quite right and it looked a little strange, but the lighting, clothing, and makeup was good.

I haven't but I have seen 3 relatives that have had them done and they looked amazing!!! they all said worth every penny

I did it and they turned out pretty good i have sent friends there and they have done them as well, they liked it to.

i did like joke ones with my friends? i have seen some of my friends real ones though, they use lights that make your flaws less noticable, so yea they MAKE them come out good, and then theres photoshop.. so i think you'll get a nice pic

They use alot of props and filters and lighting to make you look good. I was very pleased with mine :)
