What if she picks Bill as her running mate? If something happens to her, would he assume the presidency? Why can't there be a democrat president and a republician vice president or vice versa? What about Hilliary & Rice on the same ticket? Two women running the country?

First gentleman, or president Clinton, but the latter would be confusing, as there would be two of them. First gentleman is proper.

Wow there is a lot here. Okay she couldn't pick Bill as her running mate, because by law the VP must be legally eligible to be president. Bill would be disqualified because he has already served two terms. Incidentally, even if Bill had only served one term she couldn't pick him unless one of them established residence in a different state. The Constitution prohibits electors from voting for both a Presidential and Vice Presidential candidate from the same state . There could be a "split" ticket, but it is highly unlikely. Though until the twelfth amendment in 1804 it often happened due to the way President and Vice President where chosen. The main reason this would never happen is because with a split senate vote 50/50 the VP would cast a deciding vote. No president would give his opposition party that potential power.

I hope that clears it up for you.

mevlana, Bill is a resident of NY like his wife

bill has already been president, so i imagine they are going to probable keep on with "Former President". So a caption in a photo would examine: "President Hilary Clinton and previous President bill Clinton." If he wasn't former president, he'd probable be "First Gentleman" in a suitable putting. all the different options i have considered are too casual or awkward.

The ettiquette link from aoc.gov says he will be Mr. President, if he had never been President he would be First Gentleman. He can sit as Vice President but would be skipped over in the sucession order because of term limits.

Oh, heck no...you can't mix them two up..that would be like oil and water...yes, Bill could be both vice president and "First Gentleman" so with two jobs he would be paid double...and then if Hillary decided to step down and retire and bake cookies, then Bill would be president again (appointed, not elected president)..it doesn't say he can't be appointed President, only not elected president...with no restrictions against being vice president...

Hey, don't they live in different states already??Hillary in NYC and Bill in Arkansas...??

Hillary cannot pick Bill as her running mate because he's already served his 2 yrs as pres. He will be the first gentleman AKA Mr. President, the title he has until death. Her running mate will be a democrat of her choosing if she is elected.
