Just run about 2-4 cups of plain old vinegar in your coffee maker. Run it like you would a regular pot of coffee. After that run a whole pot of clear water 2-3 times through it to get the vinegar taste out of the lines. I hope this helps.

Put hot water and dish soap in a bucket and add 1/8 tsp, a small splash, of bleach. Get a cloth wet in this and wipe down the tub. (If you have a ring on the tub, baking soda and water is a mild abrasive that will scrub it off, rinse well when finished.) If you can't use bleach, use 1/2 to 1 cup vinegar in soapy water for getting it clean and germ free.

Put a filter in. Pour it full of water. Add 5 tablespoons of white vinegar.
Run the vinegar solution through the filter. Port the same solution back and run it again. After cleaning, run clear water through it to remove vinegar residue. Works wonders.

Ice cubes and lemon wedges. For the actual coffee maker, run a cycle with vinegar.

If you are trying to clean the brown stuff off the bottom and sides of the coffee pot, then I would put a couple of table spoons of salt and a few cubes of ice in it and swirl it around in circles. It gets that stuff right off.

I use diluted white vinegar through it a couple of times. Then follow it with a couple runs of fresh water. It cleans the machine and takes care of calcium buildups.
