It travels the same direction as the light hitting the desk and refracting back to your eyes... But because the paper is white it absorbs all coloured light so you only see it as white.

Whatever be its path, a ray from the paper must reach your eye in order to see it.

The light rays obeys differnt laws when it is reflected, refracted, scattered, and dispersed.

Depending upon the medium between the paper and eye and depending upon the phenomenon, i.e, reflection or refraction etc, the ray may take different paths. ( for example you can view a paper using a mirror or magnifying glass etc.)

Thus, there is not a specific path, to answer your question.

It is enough if the ray reaches your eye to see it.

In a straight line from the paper to the eye! Any doubts? If so try to see the paper with one eye and block the straight line joining eye and paper and see whether you are able to see the paper. Do this and let me know!
