- for beer and wine 16, for harder drinks 18 (I am not sure whether the law is the same for the whole country or whether each "Bundesland" has the right to set higher drinking limits).
- food is regionally and also seasonally different, but you can of course get everywhere international food. Famous is Sauerkraut, fermented cabbage.
- Few hotels offer rooms with a kitchenette, but most don't. The chances are better if you're not in a hotel, but in a holiday resort.
- Of course you'll find restaurants of the top level in quality, but they're usually also top in price. You may easily pay 100 $ per person for a dinner with a decent wine, as the $ is low towards the €.
- You can eat cheap, but a McDonalds in Germany is exactly the same as in any other place of the world. If you're not in a city, but in a small village you may find a place where you can eat cheap.

German food is relative the same throughout but there are regional differences. Depending upon the region the dishes may vary.

I have not seen a hotel room with a kitchen. I do not think so.

I would recommend using the Yahoo search engine for "German Recipes" you will find many.

Is there any greta places to eat?
For good traditional German food I would recommend Gasthaus's, Or resturanuts. Ask the people at the Hotel were you are staying.

Are there any cheep places?
Most Gasthauses and Resturanuts have the menu posted by the door way with the prices. I have found a number of inexpensive places to eat in Germany, especailly if you are away from the big cities. I have found McDonalds, & BK more expensive than some Gasthaus's especailly when you condsider what you get for your money.

- Depends on where you are. Most towns of any size have Italian, and Greek restaurants, as well as Gasthauses. You can also find chains, like McD's, KFC, BK, and Pizza Hut.
- Normally no. Nor would you want to. Food's great and not too expensive
- Realize Germany is the size of Montana. There's great places to eat everywhere.
- Yes, Gasthauses are your best bet. Order the TagesMenu ("Daily Special").

Do not use a grill in any hotel room.
