STEP 1: Sponge the stain lightly with a solution of equal parts ammonia and water.
STEP 2: Apply a laundry pre-treatment, such as stain remover or detergent.
STEP 3: Launder as usual.
STEP 4: Air dry.
**Don't do this if you've already applied bleach to the stain without washing as ammonia and bleach are toxic when combined.
You could also try 1 teaspoon laundry soap or pretreatment (or dish soap, like Dawn) and 1 cup hydrogen peroxide.

If it is a dried stain.. your kinda gonna find it hard to get rid of it. But here it goes:
Saturate the best you can with cold water and then pour hydrogen peroxide on it. You don't want to soak it too much unfortantely because you will rot the wood inside. But considering the size of the stain, you've kinda got nothing to lose.
If that doesn't work try this:
Soak it good with cold water (don't use hot water on a blood stain) ...let it sit for about 1/2 hour. Make a paste of cornstarch, cornmeal and talcum powder (about 1 tablespoon each or more if necessary - just make sure it is equal parts. Add just enough cold water (miniscule amount) to make it a paste. Smear it on the stain and allow it to dry there. Vacuum it up when it is COMPLETELY dry.
Good luck... worse case scenario.... buy a mattress cover or one of those hypoallergy covers that keep you from having to "lay" on the stain.

Use some OxyClean. It took the blood up from my nose bleed. Good luck hiding the evidence.
