You get the results by a detection of a pregnancy hormone called hcg. When you become pregnant the hormone is secreted through the body. The best time to take a pregnancy test is in the morning because there's a stronger presence of the hormone through the urine. In rare cases you can get a false negative or a false positive if there's something in the urine that triggers it to be positive or false neg when the hcg isn't that strong and not coming up on the test. But you don't even need a high dollar test, they are pretty accurate, but if you don't believe the test, a blood test is fool proof. Hope that helped.

HCG is the hormone produced once an egg implants to the side of your uterus. It stops the lining from sheeding and forms a block from your cervix to your vagina (mucus plug). This is ONLY present if your pregnant. A home pregnancy test tests for this hormone.
