Because it is doing the same thing as when you see a rainbow in the sky after the rain. All it takes is some water and the sun to shine through it the right way and you get refracted light that shows you the visible spectrum--a rainbow.

The water droplets refract the light into all of the visible light radio wave-lengths. So you see all the colors of the rainbow, they are arranged from highest to lowest wavelength, from top to bottom and are seen in the form of we call a rainbow. Its the same reason you see rainbows in the sky, there are water droplets in the sky.

* Rainbows are made when raindrops refract or bend sunlight and reflect the colours back to you.
* Sunlight is made up of rays of light that are different colours; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
* Each of the 7 colours that make up white light is bent at a different angle when the light hits a drop of water, so the 7 colours show up separately.
* A prism works like a raindrop to bend light so you can see the colours of a rainbow.

ITS LIKE ANY RAINBOW ANYWHERE. INCLUDING AT SEA OR AFTER A THUNDER SHOWER. ITS THE SUNLIGHT I BELIEVE ANGLING IN ON WATER VAPOR WHICH MAKES THE RED,ORANGE,YELLOW,GREEN BLUE AND PURPLE. LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET SEARCH AND GET MORE DETAILS. I THINK ITS CALLED THE INFRACTION OF LIGHT OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
