My first love was a big, tough high school wrestler....not a typical jock but kind of a bad boy greaser, into fast cars, rock and roll and other typical teenage pursuits in the 60s. I didn't think he had a sentimental bone in his body and never expected him to make a fuss over Valentine's Day. During a conversation among friends, I mentioned I enjoyed listening to classical music now and then but didn't think he'd heard. On Valentine's day, in addition to a beautiful bouquet of flowers, he presented me with a stack of classical albums he'd had to hunt for all over. He spent the money he'd been saving to get his car fixed just to see me smile. I'll never forget how special that made me feel and I miss him to this day...he died in Vietnam in 1968.
