Salem's Lot by Stephen King.

I was reading it while my husband was at a meeting. I couldn't put it down and finished after midnight. I sat up with all the lights on until he came home. It wasn't my first King book but the scariest. I still watch for signs of vampires.

Honestly, I don't really read scary books. The scariest book I've ever read is the Harry Potter series, LOL. So anyway, if you're looking for scary books, check out Stephen King. I hear they're very scary!

I am not going to say this was the scariest, but my first REALLY scary novel was Stephen King's "It".

I read it in two days at age 15, and I have to say I have been a Stephen King fan ever since.

The Morning After by Lisa Jackson is the scariest that I can think of right now. It is about one of my greatest fears, being buried alive~but it has a twist to it that made it even scarier to me! Want to find out what it is~read the book!!!

It was called "The Last Canadian" it was about a super bug that destroys the world as we know it leaving a lone man(American) who was camping in Canada when the ship hit the fan. I read it about 35 years ago when we were in a lot of trouble . so it didn't seem to far fetched. Sort of like Steven Kings The Stand and another called Swan Song, sorry I can't remember the author except he wrote several excellent books that I really enjoyed But they were scary because they were reasonable and your were able to see this sort of thing happening to our world

The Ghost Stories of M R James - get them for free from Project Gutenberg but don't blame me if you end up sleeping with the lights on.
