As a Certified Hypnotist, not only do I help individuals who wish to rid the habit of smoking - I have done it myself! It is now over four years and i have not touched - literally "touched" a cigarette! I combine NLP (Tony Robbins) and Hypnosis to put in "roots" - making it as if this is how it was all along. Now, you truly have to want to quit or nothing will work (most smokers LIKE to smoke and don't really want to give it up).....it's all about you....the hypnotist is there just to "help you change your mind..."

I use put a fist to my mouth and inhale, drink herbal tea and keep myself busy. I have not smoked in the last 20 years.
I think it's a psychological thing that you have the need to suck (inhale) in some air..not only is the cig addictive, but also the suction/inhale tendency.
When you actually quit..the cigarette will smell really bad, and sometimes make you sick. Atleast to me it does. I can't stand the smell of people smoking..

its 90 percent will power....If you want to really quit get Chantix a new prescription med. I have dispensed over 200 boxes in the past 2 months and tracked the results. 8 in 10 people have quit within 1-3 months. Ask your doctor or local pharmacist for more info.

Practice rewiring your brain. In other words, Practice creating a false urge to smoke in your imagination, and replace getting a smoke with a different action like drinking water, slapping your face, or tying your shoes. We do what are habits tell us to do, if we change a habit, then we have a new one.

GREAT new medication called "Chantix". The doc I work for is prescribing it and it has been like a miracle to a lot of long term smokers.
good luck!

You could also try smoke-away. It is sold at drugstores now and is cheaper than chantix. It worked for me and my husband, we had almost no cravings when we were using it.

Take vitamin B3. I don't know what the limit is but it will certainly put you off smoking.
