Stop caring. Or, at least, stop showing that you care.
If it gets to you, he is going to continue to use it against you. If there is one thing I have learned over lo' my 44 years is that if they know it bothers you, they are going to continue and probably escalate the behaviour. This applies to any verbal taunt.
Calling someone "Gay" seems to be a huge insult these days.

Don't let it bother you. Inform him that while you're not gay, you know that most gay people have to put up with a lot more **** in a week than he ever does in a day.
When "gay" stops being an insult, we'll all be a lot better off. You know you're not, hopefully the girls in your grade will know you're not, so whatever. (I'm assuming you're not because of the way you phrased the question; if you are, own it. Be like "you're damn right. What's your point?")

The next time he calls your gay, ask him if he's asking you for a gay date. If he looks surprised, then say to him: You keep calling me gay, do you want me as a boyfriend? That will no doubt embarrass him.
