Haven't experienced that but it is interesting info. If I were allergic to cheese, I would still order a pizza without cheese and forget the pie thing! Better to be more specific.

If you are allergic to cheese you are very wise to order without. However are you only allergic to dairy cheese from the cow I wonder. Perhaps you could try it with goats cheese or feta cheese even.

I would just call it pizza without cheese, pizza dough is slightly different to pastry which is what pies are normally made from.

Must admit I eat more feta and goats cheese than cheese made from cows milk, the former seem to suit my metabolism much better than the latter.

Most likely you are lactose-intolerant. Unless of course you are allergic to a common additive in the cheese. I have a number of friends who are affected by a lactose-intolerance. So yes it does happen to others. As for your second question, a pizza is a pie regardless of what it has on it. that is why its called a "pizza pie."

There are many other people who just don't like cheese or they are lactose intolerant. I have also heard it called pizza pie.

* Pizza is not pizza without cheese. I have not had a pizza since early October the reason is I had kidney stones again after 40 years of my first attack and I was told to stay away from sodas, al dairy products, so i just do not eat pizza anymore, and boy do I miss it>*

Do not listen because you can order pizza without cheese and it is still pizza. You can also order it with what you can eat and it is still pizza and if you order it with only the sauce than it is still pizza. My aunt is allergic to diary products and that is how she orders it.

No you're not alone, some pizza in Italy do not have cheese of, the marinara typically is not served with cheese. Pies have internal fillings are made from pastry not dough.

Darling, you can put whatever you want on your pizza.... don't care what or who says itsn't pizza!

You can put alternatives on top instead of cheese. I do not always put tomato sauce on my pizza base and I can use spicy korma sauce or anything I WANT! Pizza is Pizza!

Enjoy your Lactose free pizza.... one of my friends does not like dairy products but she drinks teas without milk. That does not make the tea any less of a cup of tea. ;-)

Just think... Butterflies are not made of butter but who cares. :-D
