It's interesting that when the topic of 'military coup' comes up it is usually a sign of despair over the way the country is governed. The last time that this was widely discussed was when a great many people were utterly fed up with Harold Wilson's government. The answer to this anger is to vote the government of the day our. That is why we have elections. However, if thiis Government ever ceased to pay lip service to democracy then the whold thing would be wide open. Interesting.....

No way! Why would they take a military and use it against the public? Or are you speaking of a militia like we did in America?
You would have to provide a case scenario and then I would not support anything there because I am an American, it is not my business. However would I sympathize? I don't know if I would choose sides, I think I would sympathize with all sides for I would think it is a shame with the brilliant politics of the Crown and their Parliament that they would ever have to resort to Barbarian Hun Ways! I also would scream Incest minded, and that the true Brit that Julius Caesar hand found to be creative and intelligent and worldly with a great diplomatic personality, had been replaced by the Huns, and or some Mongolian tribe, either by brainwashing, or mix ups in marriages and bloodlines had finally taken it's toll on the people, for the heritage is truly the thing that the British should protect forever. Scenario and case in reasoning, Breeding always was essential with the Brits, and now after the eons of power struggles that the enemy has come deep literally.

Definately not. If we had a military coup you then lose your Democracy. This has already shown in other countries where this has happened. Sadaam Hussain was a prime example. Idi Amin was another as well as Colonel Gadaffi in Libya. You end up being ruled by a Dictator.

I hope You wouldn't.....
I would like to see us going forward, not back to uncivilised times where everything was settled by violence, we have a perfectly good voting system apart from the fact that manifesto's should be legally binding as this is equal to misselling but on a much larger scale and we would also have a bit more of an idea of what parties would actually do when the come to power.

Nope... I'd be out protesting, and I wouldn't be alone... I'd probably get my skull broken by some fascist, but I'd oppose the coup... Don't know what I'd do if the coup happened whilst I was abroad though, whether I return to face it, or hunker down where I was... hey, I could get refugee status!

If I were British, I hope I would be loyal enough to my country to oppose the coup in every way I could.

It depends who mounted it. If it was the right-wing I'd oppose it. If it was the left wing, I might consider it, not sure. If it was religious extremists, i'd oppose it, and if it was the French, I would oppose it.
However, on present form, its most likely to be the Americans.
