I don't know whether it is possible for this to happen with a strep throat infection and a bad cold. But it is better to go to the emergency or go see your doctor. Bleeding could mean the beginning of a miscarriage. Or you might be lucky and it might not happen. But for me bleeding meant a miscarrriage and I lost the preganancy.
Best of luck.

II recently had strep throat at 19 weeks of pregnancy and my doctor assured me that it's unlikely that having strep throat will cause a miscarriage, however a high fever (which may be accompanied by a cold and strep bacteria) may be threatening to the pregnancy. I was prescribed antibiotics just to be on the safe side. Also, you should let your doctor know any time you have bleeding? They'll ask you whether it's enough blood to soak a whole pad, and if so, how many pads are you going through in one day. If you have an RH negative blood type you'll need to get a shot of rogam within 72 hours of the bleeding, or else you could become RH sensitized, which poses extra risks in pregnancy.

Hemolytic STrep (type A) can only be detected by a culture or a latex aglutination test. In an upper respiritory virus situation, you usually treat the symptoms for 3 to 4 days, ie, tylenol for the fever, and aches, and cepacol for the sore throat. But if the fever still persists and the back of your throat is "beefy Red", (yuk) go to a family pratice or GP doctor and he'll do a throat culture and probably put you on antibiotics. they'll have the results back in 48 hours from the culture. If it's strep, it won't get better on it's own. If it's not, then it's good to know. The problem is, your symptoms are the same as the flu. The key is if you have a really beefy red throat.

No you can't. It is very common to get a cold when you are in the early weeks of pregnancy. It will not affect your baby. The bleeding is from something else and you should get it checked out right away. It may be nothing, I bled at 8 weeks and everything was fine, but you still need to get it checked out.

If you are 8 weeks pregnant and bleeding, you should see a doctor, especially if you are having any pain or cramping. It is probaly not because of your cold, but it could be a miscarriage if there is pain. Talk to a doctor, I went through a miscarriage two weeks ago and I was 8 weeks along. Call a doctor.

you can't lose it from having strep or a cold. If you are taking over the counter meds that you haven't cleared with your Dr. then that's a no- no and it's possible to lose your baby from that. You do need to call your Dr. and see what they think. It could easily be nothing or could be the worst.

Go to an ER -- you are probably miscarrying, although not from the strep or cold...
Hope everything turns out o.k.
