Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, it is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

Yes, Phoenix is right, I heard this in church last night and, as it has been one of my favourite Bible readings for years, I thought it would be nice to share it here, with people who perhaps would never access it otherwise...
It is pretty amazing. So is David's Psalm; I will post that, one day.
Happy Sunday, everyone!

PS: The idea of trying to put 'I' instead of 'love' came from the priest, as part of his sermon.

Apart from the rude bit, and bein a failure yes oh and gramatically no....
it wouldnt read properly.. he hee love never fails? hmm well i do sometimes fail at things, I aint no superman, (or liar) but if you fail you have to have a determined streak, which i have, though it can be seen as bein a pain in the **** xxx hope not. the rude bit...hmmm well i am rude sometimes..but within context..so , well i was going to say its not too bad but i guess it is innit. Sorry.. rude as in y'know rude...not rude as in ungentlemanly or bad mannered.

ok lets see... patient, hmmm, mostly i know i am, even saintly (boring i know) but honestly it will wear thin after the tenth time y'know. but havin said that, i'm not built to argue. Kind, thats not for me to say... i think i am, was brought up to be...but as i said i cant be my own reference on that. Jealous? I know im not jealous of what other people have nor am i jealous at what i dont have...but what i do have i guard jealously...does that make sense? just tryin to be totally honest here...i dont want to tick all the boxes otherwise that would make me perfect, an i aint. oops just checked, im takin up the page, sorry.

Poppy: that's from the bible: Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, chapter 13. Yes, it's a wonderful piece of writing.

Me, I'm nowhere near patient enough... and I fail at stuff all the time. The rest: well I try my best, and some days I do ok and other days I don't. But I do try to love. And that's the key.

The beginning of this text starts by saying (and I'm paraphrasing here):
Even if I speak the wisest words; even if I can see the future and know the answers to everything; even if I had faith so strong that I could move a mountain ... even if I had all that, I would be nothing without love.

Honestly - no I can't but what a perfect person I would be if I could.
I doubt there is anyone that hand on heart can say that they are all these things!
What a lovely piece of writing though where is it from?
