I just got a sewing machine of my own and went into a closet to find my scissors and pins. I, instead, came across a half yard of fabric and matching thread that I suppose I never used. Any ideas on what I can make with this little fabric?

Half a yard is good enough to make a simple pouch or scarf...

Try whizzing you imagination: it could be your next pot holder or placemat...

For Gadgets and stuff, you could use it to make cellphone pouches..

It's nice of you to make crafts out of ordinary stuff....

What kind of fabric is it?

Yes, they should be willing to sell you 1/2 or 1/4 of a yard.

That is just the right amount of fabric to make a purse or a tote bag. Depending on what type of fabric it is you could use it to construct the outside of the purse or bag or use it as a luxurious lining. Add a yard or two of beaded trim or embroidered ribbon and you'll have a unique accessory and a fun project.
