I believe that they are showing that their right to smoke is more important to them, then their children.

Even going out side to smoke is bad for the kids.

I was a home health nurse, taking care of children with trachs, in their home. The kids whose parents did NOT smoke, had better health, needing less medication, less treatments and less trips to the ER.

Those who smoked, even though they went outside to do so, still had a strong smell on them. Their clothes, hair, hands were covered in smoke that their kids breathed in.

I grew up in a household with both parents smoking, I, myself am a 35 year old smoker and have had the nasty habit for almost 20 years. I believe it depends on a number of issues, for instance, are there asthma or health problems involved? I have a son that was born early because of a complete placenta previa, yes, I smoked during my pregnancy, and when I brought him home from the hospital, we decided to smoke only in the garage. I dont think there is anything wrong with smoking around children, if it's not going to be you, it will surely be someone, somewhere. It is a personal choice. Maybe try to limit the exposure or get an Ionic Breeze or something.

I think they need to stop and think about how stupid and selfish they're being. Is that nicotine high more important than the health of your children and grandchildren? My mother was diagnosed w/ Hodgkins lymphoma in 1998 and both her parents as well as close family members ALL smoked. She had JUST had a biopsy taken of the cancer site when my grandfather passed away and while at my grandparents house, both her brothers proceeded to light up with her in the same room. My dad was so pissed, he wanted to throw something at them! STOP AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING, PEOPLE!

It sould be a sin. Oviously they don't care about their kids. My mom, aunt smokes around me al the time an does not care about me or my dad that are non smokers. How rude. My sister and cousin quit. good for them. My mom even smoked while she was pregnant with me that should be another sin. If second hand smoke is ture, I might have it. So much for a loving family that cares what I think.

Parents who smoke in front of their kids, especially in enclosed areas like the house or car, should be charged with child abuse for giving their kids a death sentence.

Not good. I had to live 18 yrs. as a 2nd-hand smoker, & let's not talk about riding in ur mom's car with the windows up with her smoking. I feel like I'm suffocating.

I feel really bad for the kids. When I see adults smoking in the car with any passengers, not only kids, I cringe. Smokers can fill their lungs with all that bad stuff, but please don't fill someone else's lungs. Let them make that decision.

Smoking around children puts them at risk for several complications including asthma, increased complications from colds, and cancer. Why would anyone want to do that?

Second hand smoke is worse then smoking itself. They should have respect for the health of there own children. Sick Bastards
