Once a year - you should get renewal papers about six weeks before your anniversary date. Fill them out and send them back as soon as possible - this way there's no lapse in the coverage. you don't have to keep reapplying. they will send you letters telling you that they need you to send them certain items like proof of no income or a copy of the baby's SS card, or things like that. you will get a monthly statement telling you that you will still receive benefits for your son. at least that is the way it is in Kentucky.

i'm no longer particular if the regulations concerning resertification are the same in all states. The state I stay in you should re-certify each and every 3 months, that applies for nutrition stamps besides.
