Its a really simple nightmare. I'm floating in what could only be called nothing. No matter where i move or how fast i move there is still just nothing. No sound no sense of touch or smell. I wake up sweating and scared. This nightmare has plagued me for almost a week now and i just can't get any rest. can someone plz help me figure out what it means?

This is how I like to analyze dreams:

First, what is the emotion that stood out the strongest during the dream? Can you isolate it?

Then, go about your waking life. Keep an eye out; the same emotion will come up at some point. That'll show you what the link is. The dream is making you dive into the way you feel about something. In a way, it's probably trying to get your attention; or you're trying to get your own attention.

I'm not you, therefore I can't tell you what the dream means. Therefore ignore the attempt I'm going to make below :-p

K.... you're floating in nothing. You're frustrated. You're trying everything you can but everything you do is utterly useless. You're desperate to have some rope from you to something else, anything, but your determined, sincere, scared, consistent efforts get you nowhere.

Don't know if these emotions are the right ones, but they're the ones I imagine from that dream. I would ask you a few questions, just to look for maybes.... do you have a headstrong family? Are there people you try to get through to but can't? Do you know what you want for yourself? If yes, have you been frustrated with it? If no, are you depressed? I doubt that you are depressed as you seem to care about things so intensely. Are you scared of losing what you love, and there's nothing you can do about it?

It's always dangerous to think too much when it comes to dreams. Just notice how you feel when you're dreaming, and then sit and watch.

Talk about perception being the driving force.
If I had a dream of floating in nothing, I would hardly perceive it as a nightmare, but rather a gift.
You wake up sweating and scared because that is the association you have given to nothingness in your own mind.

You may have a problem or assignment that is totally stumping you and you have no idea of where to start. In a sense, you are "nowhere" with it and kind of in limbo. Problem solving is an art. You have to first determine the problem and start with that. Then "brainstorm" with anything that comes into your head no matter how crazy until you hit on some possible solutions. Now you have a start and can go from there. Simple, right?

You are feeling like you "don't matter" - note the lack of matter in the dream. You are still moving, but nothing.

If I'm correct, give yourself a break. This could be a sign that a new direction should be investigated, so be open-minded if opportunity presents itself. No worries, you will fulfil your purpose.

In the meantime, praise other people because it sounds like you need some recognition. You can't 'give' what you don't 'have' so recognize others.

Live well

Dreams can mean many different things, and noone can tell you what your dream means for sure. The question you should be asking yourself is what it means to you. If you're stressed about something lately that could be it, whether its you are afraid of nothing happening to your benefit in the future or you are afraid of losing everything you have. Just try to take what you think the dream means and improve yourself from the lesson.

I'd trying changing what you eat before you go to sleep, your diet can effect your sleeping patterns so if you try and eat a health dinner then that may help stop the dream from reoccuring.

I'm no expert on this sort of thing but my guess is that you might feel rudderless- in other words without specific plans or goals in life. I don't mean to sound insultive to you because I could be wrong about this. Seeking positive goals, hobbies, activities and friends is always a good thing for the heart and soul, though.

let me ask you a question and this might be your answer......do you feel very insignificant right now in some part of your life? it seems that you have no direction and "no place to land" so to speak...you are in, what we call...a void...nothingness...nothing to hold on to and no sense of "anything." because dreams mirror your "waking reality" try and find out what is holding you back when you are awake from (belonging somewhere) accomplishing something that may be important to you.............fear could be holding you back in one form or another, ... you need to find yourself in the darkness............find a way through the void and get back to what's really important in your life.........I would also ask if you are "searching" for a more spiritual base to your life............as this may also be represented by the vastness.

some would say tht the floating feeling in your dreams is an astroprojection of yourself not a dream. the falling feeling people get is sometimes thought to be one re-entering thier body after an astro projection. astrial oops not astro, but im lazy. but it could also mean you have a fear of the unknown or lonliyness or your afraid of something tht is coming up in your life. did you just lose someone imprtant to you or anything like tht?

I think it means you have no direction in your life and your scared. I suggest you face life head on and fingure out what it is you'd like to make out of it. Hope you have a restful night soon. It also helps to write things out from dreams, they make more sense.
