i live near chicago. we've got plenty. lots of ghosts too. the most recent"urban legend" that i'm aware of is the one where, if you blink your headlights at an oncoming car whose lights are off, they'll follow you home and kill you.it was everywhere for a while. probably the most famous ghost story is the one about ressurection mary, a young woman who was killed and haunts passing drivers. they think she's real and give her a ride only to find her gone when they get to ressurection cemetary where she is buried. there are handprints burned into the metal gates. she was a real person and really buried there but as far as the apparitions-who's to say.there are many more around here. you should check it out. happy haunting

A friend of mine decided to commit suicide. He stood on top a cliff and tied a noose around his neck. He tied the other end of the rope to a large rock. He drank some poison and set fire to his clothes. He even tried to shoot himself at the last moment. He jumped and fired the pistol.

The bullet missed him completely and cut through the rope above him. Now freed from the threat of hanging, he plunged into the sea. The dunking extinguished the flames and made him vomit the poison. He was dragged out of the water by a kind fisherman and was taken to a hospital, where he died of hypothermia.

It's not really an urban legend, but there was a woman who lived here quite some time ago. Her name was Carolyn Dye. Everyone called her Aunt Carolyn Dye. Well, supossedly she could tell you anything about your life. She was good!! Everyone around here knows of her. It's kinda creepy if you really think about it.
