Even when children are @ the age where the opposite sex has "cooties", do u think its a good idea 4 an adult, even in a jokingly manner, to discredit the opposite sex, by confirming things by saying: "Yeah, boys are bad.", or "Girls stink!", or "Boys are dumb.", or "Girls are silly.", etc. Or is it okay, as long as its done in jest, and presumed to not be taken seriously? Please be honest.

I don't think it's all right. Kids are very impressionable. If you say "Yeah girls are silly" to an extremity, your child might start to believe you.

yea its ok long as the point is realized even if it were to be a bad thing when they find out about boys and girls and could possibly have the hint by an adult doing that sooner than normal but have every option from there to teach it and the negetive of not being lied to but being steered possibly in the childs view to them having cooties and all problems or ideas even if it were just one explained were thought of. that was my problem one time when i was little. so its kinda a toss up with what could happen but its the more common reaction. so its not wrong just gets the child i guess in the right area of learning things like that so it would be a possible normal sexual life for hopes.

My grandson HATED girls until last year(11). When his Mom was having a baby he was terrified it would be a girl. LOl We were all nervous over that one but she had a boy!
Never ever did we degrade girls but only say one day you'll think different. I don't believe it's a good idea to degrade boy or girl as that's what you're doing when you "put" down boy/girl. I think it would instill in them that one sex is better than the other. It should be reinforced that both are good after all... ONE DAY!!!

we raise sheep. we sell the boys and keep the girls. when the kids girls ages 7,8,9 and boy 7 asked why we told them the truth , the boys are useless we already have a ram and the girls can grow up and have more babies. not thinking that they would "use " that information. well yesterday all the girls ganged up and reduced to tears the 7 yr old boy - " you are useless, be nice or you'll be sold with the rest of the boys" so be careful what you say and how you say it.

I think that the it would be fine for a guy to say that but in his own introspection. This would be a good way to keep his mind off of the opposite sex while trying to concentrate on more important things like his education, or even his eyes on the road to prevent himself from getting into an accident.

Hi
No it's not a good thing. Children look up to adults for guidance. You might say something as a joke but kids would take it seriously. Their minds are like sponges so fill them with good thoughts and attitudes and sculpt them into good adults with proper morals and values. Hope I've helped.
