The main Character is an elf. She is the princess of the land but she dose not know it. She is spirited away in the middle of a war. Her family and the dragons are killed. She is taken to a human farm where the servant hands here over and then runs to make her purswers to chase her. The babe grows up. Anyway she ends up saving her kingdom finding a dragon Gladwing and together they restore the elves honor and puts the sword undowills gem stones back in that allow her to kill the Evil Keeper (keepers are the people who are the dragons riders and friends.) Argonoth. I am also unsure of what to call the land on which this all takes place. This is just a outline of my story if you would help me thing of a better bad guy name and names for the land and my Character it would help. I think the main character should be named Gladia (pronounded Glad ee-a) but maybe that would clash with gladwing.

I think it would be cool if the elves were all named after plants. Because elves supposedly like nature? So maybe your main character should be named Ivy. I like that name for your character. Or you could also try a hawaiian name for your character. Like...Kalea, or something simple like Lani, or Maile (pronounced my-lee).

hmm.. where would this all thake place? maybe...Tillaretta? You can use that name, I used in my story, which then got stuck (and, in all honesty, was pretty bad in the first place) so maybe you'll have more luck with the name than I did.

anyways, you should try this generator:

As an elf, she should have something pretty and exotic-sounding. Perhaps you could get an elvish dictionary and find a pretty word or something. She should have a human name, though, as a disguise. Something simple like Fay or Lynn or something.
If you want, because you're writing in pure fantasy and that's what I write, here's what I do to make up names sometimes. I just type random letters on the keyboard and pick out a section that sounds interesting to me. That, or I surf around on babynames.com and find good meanings, or I take what I want them to be and go a few keys off - that's what happened with Priest Oruesto. The r, e, s, and t are on the left hand where they're supposed to be, but the right hand was one key too far to the right, and I added an o at the end.

All those names work, as 'counter-syllabic' to each other. You want (so I was told, when I was to name a baby) the syllables in each name to be a different number from each other. So Violet (or Ariana) Jane Turner both work very well. Suggest you use Violet, either for an old-fashioned touch, or as contrast to how the character actually is... or Ariana (Aria) if the character is flowingly cool a lot of the time, or lyrical, musical (Aria). Your choice, and I know you'll make the one you like.

Llyoyd Alexander was Welsh, and used Welsh names for places and things, I liked the way it worked for his fantasy books... maybe you might give that a try.

You want to use names that are uncommon, but please stay with simple to read and pronounce words... I've been reading fantasy and sci fi, along with everything else, for 30 years, and really don't like the authors getting cutesy with names that are on every page, and you can't scan across them without hitting them like a speed bump.... the best read books just flow.

Tolkien's Hobbit for example. Bilbo, Frodo, Gandalf... etc. At most 2 sylables, one preferably. Simple to pronounce and even better if you must use Ellywyn that you fet right to other characters using a abbreviated "Elly".

Also try anchient greek names, not the common ones we already associate with gods though.

I hope you do well in your book, Best wishes.

I don't mean for this to sound bad but it might. Unfortunately, in the world of writing, there is one person that absolutely knows their name, and that's the character. Getting enough details in your manuscript so that the name finally comes to you is another matter. Try setting off what the name should be with characters (#### would be fine) and when you finally get it, you can use the "Find and Replace" option in your editor to insert the name.

I've never really been good with names, but here I go:

For your elf, I like the name Leslie.

I am so sorry, but this is the best that I can do. I am really horrible with names. I hope this helps even just a little bit. Once again, sorry. Bye!!!

How about Kalaryn for a name, or possibly Tayidri. For a fairy country I would think Naloryn. Sounds like a great book though, good luck!
