I purchased a coconut tree from a nursery in Florida. It was shipped to me in NY 2 weeks ago. I replanted it (following directions) & have been watering it. I have it in the window. The leaves are now drying up and turning yellow. What am I doing wrong?

Its signs of stress. Palm trees need HIGH humidity and lots of it.
Try a humidifier in the room. Also buy store water it could be the chlorine in the tap water.

The reason is because snow men don't do well in Florida. You live about 1300 miles too far north. They need full sun all day long and a south Florida climate. They will even croke in west central Florida if temp drops to freezing. It dosent happen often but a freeze in 63 killed every one of them.
