I'm a upcoming freshman in college and I'm interested in pledging next semester. Does anyone have advice for me?

make sure this is really something that you want to do.

check out the sorority as a whole

and then check the one at your college

ask around and see what other people see in it

check about holding off to get your footing with grades first

if you determine this is def. something you want to do

try talking to members

do you have friends in sororities? or maybe friends with sisters that are?

try to get in their heads to see what they want.

tell them what you have to offer.

research what they do and tell them why you would be good to help them do that.

give them specific examples of things you have done that fit into their activities.

make it sound professional, but remember: have fun, and don't make it a bore.

Check out the big job sites Hotjobs, monster as well as the templates on Microsoft.com - look at "cover letters" these are similar in concept to what you are going to want to write a sorority. You are going to want to show how your skills, interests, and background fit with the sorority - as well as how you can bring something positive to them.

Have a friend read it after you've written it (get an English major if you know one - or a Business major if you don't!) and make changes. PLEASE be sure to run spell check! (I hate cover letters with typos!) and be positive and enthusiastic.

Best of luck!

Write about why you want to join that org and why should accept you as a member/ what can you contribute and makes you different from everyone else. Very much like any cover letter you would write to get a job interview.

Good luck!!

Well, first, you could spell "interset" like this: interest. Next, you could spell 'proffessional' professional.

Finally, it's a sorority. Why bother making it either interesting OR professional?

Focus on your grades in college. Sororities are a big waste of time.

for a sorority letter, make sure to state what you like to do/your interests. tell a little about yourself.
