If you look for it, newspapers already begun to change. The main aim of a newspaper in the next few years will be: diverting a lot of (otherwise unapproachable) readers to THE INTERNET.

The same thing is happening in radio: if you've heard a radio ad 10 years ago, they probably mentioned a phone number to reach the advertised service. NOW, they mention ONLY an Internet address and the same thing is with newspapers.

Let me give you an example. Here, in London (UK) there are two FREE afternoon newspapers. Both of them replace at least one column on the first page to print their Internet address there. So you actually read the headlines and there is a box where you can read something like this: "Want to find the perfect flatmate? Visit our brand new website, www...."

The Daily Telegraph in Britain also offers printable afternoon issues. You can download WHAT YOU REALLY NEED to read and print to your own paper. This is for free and could replace the normal newspapers. Although, you need a printer but most of their readers are businessmen who print it before they leave their office...

So the future of the analogue media: diverting more and more readers (listeners, etc) to the Internet.

But the newspapers are not strong, they are weak willed. The US public does not know the the yellow cake was a phony invoice for 100 tons of uranium sulfate, one bombs worth. They do not know that the French control all the uranium production in Niger.

There are two groups, those that know things and those that believe all they are told. I think newspapers betrayed the trust of the people and strutting around privately with their in-the-know while failing to do justice to the truth.

We know that Alkaeda would not work with Saddam. He was killing Shiites all the time and his government was not religious so they were both enemies of each other for multiple reasons. In Fact Alkaeda was a tangible threat to Saddam. The press screwed this up and it has led the country into a downward spiral.

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales acknowledged that the Constitution declares "habeas corpus shall not be suspended unless ... in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it.'' But he insisted that "there is no express grant of habeas in the Constitution.''

Wow, it takes some snake oil to lubricate this, but the new papers decided the public was too stupid and have not bothered to raise the issue to a new level. Nazi Germany must have had newspapers like we have today in the US. If they loose market share it is because the no use at all and are not performing a service. The fifth column has taken sides.

They'll give you portable devices which will be easy to make in the future and cheap, and when you open it a screen pops up saying the current news events, and you can choose your own section.

Kinda like a computer newspaper.
