Organization. A place for everything and everything in its place. Storage containers are great for this. Use under the bed storage containers and a closet organizer.

I take it one thing at a time and really depends on the room ...
in my living room and family room I get all the stuff picked up that doesn't belong in there and then tackle dusting vacuuming etc., in my kitchen I get all the dishes together start my first load and then clean corners, take out garbage, scrub down the stove, etc., in my room and my kids rooms I make the beds first then I tackle the laundry, and then everything else you would not believe what a made bed or a vacuumed floor can do to the look of how clean your room is

A bulldozer! No, seriously though. The easiest way is to go in stages. Go for furniture first. Then paper. Clothes next followed by plastic and electronics. When everything is off the floor, clean the carpeting and then the walls and windows. Then, just put the furniture back the way you want it and your good to go!

well there 2 ways you can do it , open the window and throw everything out , just like my mum did to me after having such messy room or take the advice of GeneL . I also think that even if you don´t clean all your in one big swoop . take thing´s in 15 min´s steps set your clock alarm and see how much you can get done in that time, then stop have a break nice coffee then if you want to start again set your clock again you will be surprised just how much you can do in 15 min´s

I personaly take everything that is out of place and pile it all up in the center of the room. That way, all my furniture, etc is free of debris. While its all clear, I dust the furniture. Then, I get to work on the pile. I put the things into little catagories as to where they go. Then, I put each little pile up in its correct location. When everything is up out of the piles, and nothing is left, I do the floors. I think, at least at my house, that helps from just relocating existing clutter.

Ok Bailey, you're procrastinating aren't you?
oh, yes you are.
My answer: "Just do it!"
Get started by making your bed.
Then picking up all your dirty laundry and throwing them in the hamper (where YOU will wash them later).
Put and hang everything that belongs in the closet in their place.
Get everything off the floor that doesn't belong there.
Dust off your furniture.
Vacuum your carpet.
Take a look around and do any tweaking that needs to be done (spots you've missed dusting, vacuuming, etc.)
Clean your windows on the inside (you're forgiven if you don't want to do the outside of the windows just now).
Congratulations Bailey! you're done...and your room looks great....
mom will be so proud...call her in to have a look.

by being organized, then after you get a system down, keeping it picked up. My friend says that he never lets his house get messier than what it would take ten minutes to clean up.
