Because they've become the Yankees of football... They've won so many times and gotten so much media attention they've become the new Yankees. And in baseball no one likes the Yankees (i am a yankee fan but i'm prbly going to convert to an Astros fan.. even tho Pettite left) because they've won the whole shindig 26 times. Yes, the Patriots are an excellent team, and they have a good amount of class (except for the San Diego incident and Belichick's "handshake") but it's just that they're the favorites and no one wants to see them win again.. and again.. and again.
But personally i try to hate the patriots but i have to idolize some guys like Bruschi.

Well, I'm and Indianapolis Colts fan. It was kind of hard to see the Colts get smashed up the last few years. Honestly, most people are just sick of them winning the Superbowl. I've got to admit that they're a pretty awesome team though. It's easier to say after the Colts beat them. They've managed to be a huge threat during the playoffs for years now, that's an accomplishment. Taking out the Chargers was pretty amazing too. O well, so to sum it all up people are just jealous that their teams can't do what the Pats have done. I am!
GO COLTS!

Homers of other teams hold grudges as the Patriots beat their team. In the '70s people hated the Steelers.
Old quote, but appropriate:
"Maybe it's just a reflection of society, but everyone's looking for a reason why the Patriots won't repeat. Fans want to move on and see what's next. I speak to fans in airports and other places and they have actually expressed to me that they are 'tired' of the Patriots. OK, so you're tired of good sportsmanship? Tired of players who handle themselves well in the press? Tired of a team overcoming injuries and other obstacles? It makes you wonder.” -Phil Simms
I see you are already attracting pathetic homers of other teams.
Ahh, bandwagon fans. The last insult of the desperate.
The last year without a sellout in Foxborough was 1992. (Oh, in case anyone has not heard, it got broken when the owner of the time was looking into making them the St. Louis Patriots.)
Sure some teams dwarf it, say the Vikings. Many teams don't have anything close to it. I don't mean just perennial also-rans like the Arizona Cardinals; I mean teams like the Falcons and Raiders.
Oh Tuck RULE. The RULE part may mean something.:)
Raider fans should go tuck themselves.:)

I am a huge Patriot fan. But I'm not a bandwagon fan. My mother grew up in the New England area and also around the old Baltimore Colts so I grew up loving both of those teams. I do see why many people who haven't grown up with the Patriots could not like them. I'm not the biggest fan of Bill Belichick but I love the players. If you haven't grown up with them you would probably not route for team that is doing awesome. You would probably want the underdog to win. It just has to do with who's doing good when you grow up and stuff like that.
To William B: I like that quote.

They have achieved most of their success by luck. They are from Boston. I hate Tom Brady. Their uniform and logo suck. And they play in the same division as my Jets. Also, Belichick acts like a spoiled ****** when the team doesn't go to a Super Bowl. He lacks sportsmanship when he doesn't shake anyone's hand from the winning team. I hate the Patriots and I always will.

Want a list?
1. People get bored with a winner, all teams go through this
2. Their fans are getting arrogant, insisting that their franchise is so great, want to get into the HISTORY of it
3. TRUE fans hate BANDWAGON fans.

We get tired of them winning
We hate bandwaggon hoppers
We hate how Brady has an uncanny way of winning games
We hate that we sometimes can't move the ball vs. their defense
We hate how they pull of improbable upsets
GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!

Ever since the 'Tuck" rule, which everybody knows was bogus, Tom Brady was the golden boy and Bellichick the genius. They've been lucky ever since, but their luck finally ran out.

Good for you. Their fans think they can walk on water(they can't). They showed some true class this year in the play-offs (all of it low)
