We bought a Whirlpool Gold Edition Side by Side Refrigerator, about 2 years ago. It has started this clicking noise in the back when the door is open. And the inside light in the Fridge part looks like it is shorting out. Both started at the same time. It does not make any noise while the door is shut. We have taped the door switch down and it will not make noise when it is open as long as the switch is pressed down. Both Fridge and Freezer are cooling properly. Any advice is appreciated.

The Bulb is tight and the base is dry also. We found where the clicking appears to be coming from and it is a switch board mounted beside the condensor. With lots of wires.

Just a quick thought. Be sure the bulb is tight, and the screw in base is dry. You may have a drop of condensation in the socket.

Sounds like a bad relay on the control board. It turns the light on and turns the fan off when you open the door.

Pull the frig away from the wall and remove the cardboard cover on the back. Open door so light comes on and see if you can see where the sound is coming from
