Where is the safest place to download spreadsheets and ect. i am new to computer and internet?

If by DOWNLOAD, you mean SAVE spreadsheets, etc. then I would suggest the My Documents folder. When you create a new file and then save it, the computer will try to place it in an appropriate folder automatically. Documents (like spreadsheets, letters, etc.) will go to My Documents. Pictures & drawings will go to My Pictures and music and sounds will go to My Music folder.

When you become more familiar with your computer, you can create customized folders and sort your files even further.
