Maybe we're part of a big experiement. Man has been trying since the dawn of time to explain God. My best advice is to quit trying and just enjoy your life day by day.

I don't think god made the world, I think that, somehow, the universe was created, although I am fond of the multi-verse theroy, which is that there is an untold amount of universes, and as each one is created, it pushes space, more space than we can imagine, to form into other universes. If there was a god, even though I dopn't believe in God, I don't know why he would bother with a race as lowly as ours. Just the idea of god is nearly an oxymoron, because according to most religions, God is all knowing. Let's use Christianity as an example, as it is common and well known. God created Adam and Eve and the garden of Eden, even though he already knew (because he is all knowing) that the serpent would tempt Eve, and they would eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, so what was the point of having them there in the first place? And God also said that if they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, that they would die, and they didn't. But God also knew that here in 2007, I would doubt him, because the Bible doesn't make literal sense, but he did nothing to make sense of his own word. If there was a God, would he really spend his time fretting about us? Wouldn't he be more concerned with creation and godly things than whether or not little Suzie passed a test. If there is a god, he certainly doesn't need us.

God not only made this world he created the universe and everything else, And does he need us I would have to say yes, because who else but us on this world are able to recognize, appreciate, and be thankful for such a blessing, are we alone in the universe, I would say NO and for the same reason God did not create man alone but every thing that goes along with what we are, so why would it be any different on other planets and other universes, But some people in their thinking believe that we are Gods finest achievement, I disagree, because God is not done yet with his work and I just can't wait to see what will be next

The answer lies inside your soul. Put yourself in God's shoes. If you had this whole universe and no one to share it with, what would you do? You would find someone, possibly even make someone to share it with. You ever watch Pinnochio? See, I believe God was lonely, what do you do when you are lonely? you find a mate. What do organisms do when they reach perfection? they multiply-I think the word need is irrellevent , of course he needs us, we are like his children, without us, what would be the point of his universe? it would just be cosmos, carbon rock, and space. He would have no one to laugh with, cry with, have fun with. Generally no matter what happens in this world, people are good and he will always remember us as when we were children. Then we grow up and we leave him, either we come back or we are gone for ever. He leaves that up to us.

Why do artists paint & musicians make music? Why do people bear children? It would be a bleak & empty existence if you didn't create something. God made us in His image so we have the same desires that he did. He had a need to create a beautiful world, extraordinary creatures & children that He loved. He must have been bored & lonely living in nothingness, since He pre-existed everything...

God is love. Love by its very nature needs an object to extend to...God desired fellowship with a free-willed intelligent being. So He made the world to place man in and created man in His image and likeness and gave him a free will to choose to reciprocate that love or not.

When the man began to believe that a creator made the world, the question'why did he make the man?'sprang up naturally.I think we should put the question this way 'do we really need.......?'

doesnt god know everything? why would he need us to do........
anything? there wouldnt be a "void" or "oblivion" in gods knowlage, a big reason for that is because god wouldnt live in time and space, he doesnt "experiance" things , he already knows the end result of every thing in time and universe.
if god existed before he created us, then obviously he doenst need us.
(it should be noted that im very atheist and everything i just said of course is in the hypothetical tense)

Initially I thought that god lived vicariously through us, experiencing what we did, (IE. when a lion kills a lamb, God experiences exactly what both the lamb and lion experiences), from afar.
But recently, I’ve come to think that god didn’t CREATE the universe, rather he BECAME the universe. God doesn’t sit back and observe, (and judge), rather God acts through the various life forms.

god needs us, because through our human bodies and minds we experience many, many different things. god knows all and is all, but is lacking form to experience things. so god divided some of its parts into smaller energies. the spark of the divine, if you will. that is our soul. we and god are really one. just like god is the overall body and we are just a cell in the body. or like god is the ocean, and we are a drop of water in it.
