well you'r first character if my calculations are correct would be born in 1981 and a popular name in that year was angela, amber or tiffany but in my opinion angela sounds more like you'r kinda gal it reminds me of angela from home and away who was also manipulating yet attractive
you'r second character you say is materialistic and ir shows that some of the popular names of her year(1985) were lauren, brittany and danielle but i think brittany would suit best because of her materialistic attitude.
if you are looking for different names i think the first character should be named eve - sort of mysterious and the second should be alexis or abagail
i hope i have helped you in some way please let me know what the book is about and the title so when it is published so i can read it
good luck!!!

the best thing to do in when writing a short story or anything where the development of characters are important is make a list of what personality traits you want in them, giving each as much detail as possible. in most cases just by doing that you will be able to get a mental image of a name in your mind. if its a period piece dealing ie for example in the eighteenth century. check out historical records for common names used then,

Do you know any people like the characters you are creating? Is there someone from high school you would like to immortalize in your book. Say, maybe, take out a little frustration on. Especially if they were not kind to in high school. Books are greatway to work that kind of thing out in.
