I have actually encountered this situation before. An arab couple got on the bus with me one day and there were no seats. I took the woman's hand and told her to sit beside me becuase she looked tired. As soon as the husband noticed he had left her side he started cursing and yelling at her right there on the bus. Well, my temper blew. I freaked out on him. Called him a few names that I won't mention on here. I can't stand aholes like that and if someone is humiliating or hitting a woman in public I step in.

It all depends. You have to be very careful in situations like this. Some ppl have gotten in the middle of a couple arguing or fighting, and have gotten themselves killed. Usually, it's not the first time the man beat up on the woman, and she choose to stay with him and even defend him.
If it's just yelling and screaming, it's best to mind your own business. If it's physical-it's best to call 911.

I would have to say that truly does depend on if they are fighting as in arguing or if one of them is physically being hurt. Notice i said he or she as anyone can be a victim.
To answer the question from my opinion seeings that I have a zero tolerance policy for abuse period ... i would have to say that if i saw a couple physically abusing one another i would certainly make a phone call to the police.

Leave them alone, or if they are violent call 911. Most people who are fighting in public really don't want anyone interfering. They will turn on those who try to break it and create a big scene or even hurt them.

Leave them alone, if one asks for your help and you think you can without getting in trouble, go for it. But from experience, leave them to their fighting, some couples just live that way, strange but true.
I have a few stories before I learned this lesson, but that was not the question, anyway, leave them to their fight unless your intervention is requested.

I guess it depends how bad it is if they were just arguing I wouldn't do anything, but if they were getting violent I would call the police. I don't think I could go over there and stop it, I must admit I would be scared of getting hurt, plus I'm not that strong really.

I guess it depends on the severity of it, I would probably walk away, but if I got a feel it may get out of control and someone can get physically hurt, I would call the police.

it depends on if it were verbal or physical fighting....... if it looked like it were going to get physical, I'd let them know I was calling the police. I am no good at physical stuff so there's no sense in me getting into the middle of it and getting hurt too.
