The idea was derived from the original, much better film by the name of:

Brief Encounter (1945)
On a cafe at a railway station, housewife Laura Jesson meets doctor Alec Harvey. Although they are already married, they gradually fall in love with each other. They continue to meet every Thursday on the small cafe, although they know that their love is impossible.

Yeah, it sounds like Same Time Next Year. It was made in the 70s and starred Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn. They were both married and met each year for a weekend fling, even one year when she was pregnant, which was pretty funny. It was based on Neil Simon's broadway play.

There's a movie where they're both married and they met once a year in the same place.

SAME TIME NEXT YEAR.
