Cumulative is a process brought about by any effect which may happen to anything which then finds it showing to cause a "building up of", or cumulative effect, by way of its occurence, through repetition or gathering, in any regards.
Two examples would be the way snowball accumulates snow as it grows larger when rolling down a hill covered with snow, or as in the way rote memory dictates the brain to memorize something through the same cumulative processes.

It's a 'cumulative' rating. That means, ratings for all players are added up and keep being added to as the game progresses.
