If you want to create a web site for free without any coding at all, then I sugggest you start with a blog.

A blog is by far the easiest and fastest way to get a web page up onto the internet and it is absolutely free.

Open a FREE account at www.blogger.com, 360.yahoo.com, or www.wordpress.com. Once you make your first entry into your blog, you will be immediately published on the web. **Note, using a free blog service will get you immediate traffic to your new blog/web page especially if you use A LOT of tags (keywords) which is really useful in Yahoo's 360 blog.

If your webpage is personal and NOT professional AND you don't mind having ads at the top or sides of your webpages, you can open a FREE account at Yahoo GeoCities, Tripod/Lycos, or Angelfire.

If you have designed your own webpages for your own website, and you want your webpage to have no ads or you want it to look professional, you will need the following:

#1) A registered domain name, I recommend GoDaddy.com

#2) A hosting account. This is where you put your web pages. I recommend IXwebhosting.com

#3) An FTP program to upload your files onto the web. I recommend a FREE tool call ALFTP.

And that is basically it.

For FREE online video tutorials on how to do all of the things I just showed you, go to: http://www.diywebtech.com

At this site you will find video training tutorials, free templates, free tools to do everything you need. It will explain everything.

Well, im not an HTML/xHTML/CSS/RSS/JAVA....Expert, but there are programs that i use alot that help in so many ways, for Website Building, and Image making + Logo Designing...

Website Designing programs: Microsoft Frontpage 97 to 2003, Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver.

Image Making and Logo: (My Personal Favorite) MGI Photosuite 4 (Excelent program for Image making, love it) Then there's Adobe Photoshop C2 (Another Realy good one).

If you want to start of with a real basic Site Desinger to help, i would go for really Microsoft Frontpage 97 - 2003 or OpenOffice 2.0.0

All These are really all i use for Site Making, Easy to use, Dead simple.

Hope this helps in anyways for you

The easiest way to build a website is by using godaddy.com's "website tonight" feature. With website tonight, you can have a 5 page website up in just a couple of hours. I own 8 websites but one of them is by website tonight from godaddy.com. I have included a link to my site so that you can see a sample of one of their sites. It's not a bad deal at all. A 5 page site costs about $54 a year which includes hosting. A hosting account at godaddy alone costs about $43.00 a year so basically, you're getting your own website for about $9.00 a year!

Your computer probably has a tutor program or help menu that tells you the basics.

Many software packages come with web page builders and/or software to help you build your site.

Your local library is a major benefit there... the the local computer guru's that hang around the computer sections for advise.

Type in your request on the search line of your browser and start checking out all the help on the www.

I would suggest signing up with a free web service like Geocities. This will allow you to get your feet wet. There are many resources available on the Internet to teach you how to create pages. The Worldwide Web Consortium is always a good place to go since they set all web standards. http://www.w3c.org

First, familiarize yourself with Windows Notepad. Then, learn about saving and creating files of different types (i.e. txt files, html, etc).

Then Google. Search for "HTML tutorials". One website that really helped me was http://www.htmlgoodies.com (though I don't know if it still exists, you can check anyhow). HTML is pretty easy, just take your time to learn it. Don't learn other things immediately. Start slowly.

you have to find a host and register a domain. you can own your own server, but i wouldnt recomend it if you dont know much about computers. host are the best thing..
you can have a free website but you wont have your own domain, it would look somthing like this (www.freewebs.com/youwebsite.htm). or pay to have your own domain, like this (www.yoursite.com). just search the internet for the best web hosting companies.

or you could try www.freewebs.com for a free host or www.startlogic.com for a domain, cost monthly. i use startlogic and its great, very easy to use and manage.
