I believe yes a person could possibly "find" or fall in love the right one online. I heard of someone meeting another from the Phillipines and it worked out great and they were married. But most of the time it happens is it really love, lust, a person being in love with a possible fantasy ideal that can never be obtained or the idea of love itself, or romanticism? When you consider the divorce or cheating rates and how people offline can still keep secrets or tell lies, I don't see how that's different from people doing the same thing on the computer. But there are also frauds, sex offenders, and cheaters online, using the computer to locate and play people for their money or for sex. The computer just gives them more access to more people in the world of background checks, reverse phone checks, hacking and tracking emails, the same as it gives other people more access to be open and honest and find out information or companionship. Another possibility is using it to find people from the past you were too afraid to go out with or didn't have time for in school (like class reunion websites) or people who are looking for serious relationships and marriage (like eharmony); even if you never noticed that person because of a rigorous schedule, you can still fall head over heels. Just do background checks on someone you start to have feelings for. The checks might be well worth the time and money in the long run to see if that person is telling you the truth or hiding some secrets that you should know.

I think it can happen once in a while. If you meet someone online and talk and get to know their personality and like it, then meet with them in person. I think online personality and actual personality can be very different. I don't really think you can fall in love with someone without ever having met them. You could be attracted to them, but real love takes lots of time and experiences together to develop. And who knows, when you meet them face-to-face, they might have some annoying habit that you would never know about until you met them.

I have a hard time believing that you can love a person you have never spent time with in person. I think when you are separated, you begin to create a perfect person in your mind based upon phone calls and emails. I would be willing to bet once you meet and spent a significant time together, the person that you knew on the phone/email is NOT the same person you are interacting with. That doesnt mean you'll end up breaking up, you'll just learn another dimension to that person.

I would think so. At least you would know it's not just a physical attraction. My grandfather was totally blind and he fell in love. Sure, he "met" her, but he never saw her.
