It's scientific fact !!
Proven beyond expectation of all apossing religious backlash, evolution is undeniably the reason for the existance for every living creature/ plant on this planet and (if it's out there) all other occupied planets.
If you have evidence that proves other wise, let's have it !

Evolution is still a theory, not fact. It just goes to show that if you tell a lie often enough and loud enough, it eventually gets believed (just ask any democrat).

It would appear that certain people have a limited understanding on how science, the work of scientists and the theories that are used to explain science work.

First a number of facts are observed. These consist of raw data on an experiment (whether in a lab or out in the world/universe).

A working hypothesis is constructed around these facts and further observations/experiments are undertaken.

Other scientists then review these facts, perform further experiments/observations and submit modifications or, if the hypothesis is wildly inaccurate/wrong, data that shows that the hypothesis is wrong.

Everything is carefully reviewed and criticised. Often individuals will make errors and mistakes, however the sheer number of people undertaking various experiments will iron these mistakes and errors out.

It is only when a hypothesis fits the vast majority of the known facts is that it will be formalised as a theory. The theories of evolution, gravity, relativity, black holes, antimatter and fusion are all still theories. But they are theories with a huge amount of evidence to support them.

I suspect that a number of people are confused about how such things arise and end up dismissing what they do not understand. Evolutionary theory has a wealth of evidence behind it, much more so than any religious book you will read. Unfortunately there will always be those who will only believe one source about where we come from rather than opening their minds and perhaps settling down with some of the accumulated evidence to study rather than blindly accepting whatever AiG has to say about their latest "scientific argument".

Evolution is here to stay. I suspect there will always be creationists for as long as there is religion but they will hopefully dwindle to a small and insignificant minority as they seem to be in the UK. "The Bible is all the PROOF I NEED" is an oft repeated mantra but it completely eliminates any form of rational debate and presentation of the facts.

Interestingly, another oft quoted mantra is that Darwin refuted his theory of evolution on his deathbed. Which is another case of wishful thinking - his last words were reported to be "I am not the least afraid to die" and were spoken to his son.

Evolution has not been disproven and continues on. If you wish to present evidence which has been adequately peer reviewed (ie tested by other scientists) then by all means do so.

Proven fact - you've got to be kidding!

If you seriously believe that then I recommend that you also look at cutting edge creationist arguments, and you can do no better than visit

It is important to understand that everyone has exactly the same evidence - which exists in the present. Creationists and evolutionists interpret the same evidence with different worldviews. That is different assumptions about the past and different philosophical approaches.

People who dismiss creation as 'unscientific', or who claim that evolution (or creation) is 'proved', have missed the point. They either don't understand what science is, or want to hoodwink people into agreeing with them.

It is not possible to prove anything about the past using the scientific method, which involves observation, testing, repeating.

If one was to take an unbiased approach, one would ask simply which of creation and evolution provides the best explanation of the observed evidence. It is difficult ot take an unbiased approach, since we all have a worldview.

I used to believe that evolution was the best explanation, but then I discovered that there is an awful lot of evidence which contradicts evolution, which is 'hidden' by evolutionists and most of the media. But if you check Aig you will see that evolution is quite easy to to refute scientifcally.

Who are these idiots who keep saying 'it's just a theory'. Newtons theory of gravity is 'just a theory' - we are not all floating around in space. To a scientist everything is a theory, there is no such thing as a 'fact'. If a theory explains a wide range of observed behaviours and can make predictions it is a good theory, but just a theory. Evolution can explain a wide range of observations and can make predictions - in the 50's it was predicted that overuse of anti-biotics would lead to bacteria evolving into strains that would be resistant, MRSA anyone. So just because it has the tag 'theory' after it doesn't mean that we can't rely on it. This is the last, desperate, spouting of people who should know that their view on the world is not supported by any evidence. Also we are not all descended from apes, we are decended from a common ancestor. Not only that but there are many missing links, evolutionary branches of humans that are no longer with us, such austro-apethicine and rudolphus aferensis.

Evolution is just a theory, just like gravity. We all know that gravity is false, so every other scientific theory must be too, RIGHT? Down with scientific theory! (please note sarcasm)

I have also been trying to figure out why there are so many people that are adamantly against evolution and prefer a literal interpretation of the Bible. One hypothesis (note it is not a theory) is these people have been taught not to question, but to have faith. When children ask questions in bible study they are often told they just have to believe the story and the existence of God. Another hypothesis is people in leadership positions in the church fear they will loose members if the status of God is questioned, so they spew out false information (i.e. degrade evolution to monkeys gave birth to humans one day). People believe this because they have not been taught, or have chosen not to learn the basics of science.

Religion and science are not at odds, I know plenty of scientists that believe in God. The former Pope allowed Catholics to believe in evolution due to overwhelming evidence of its occurrence.

Evolution simply states that the critters that have the most babies are better represented in the next generation. If environmental circumstances favor one type over another, after a while the population will reflect a change.

In other words, furrier mice do better in a cold winter. After a bunch of cold winters, the mice are generally more furry, because the ones that weren't aren't here anymore.

What's so hard to believe?

The Bible nicely-knownshows extra with regard to the non-public and political agendas of that is priestly authors than it does with regard to the the so called certainty. The Bible is definitely no longer the observe of God. If God incredibly had to jot down a e book Jesus might have executed it Himself and there may well be no questions approximately it. it might additionally be an extremely distinctive e book. actual power lies interior the palms of people who write historical past and create the mythos upon which a society is predicated. In Biblical circumstances this became the priesthood. They and the scribes they experienced have been the only literate contributors of society. the least perplexing thank you to maintain people (women individuals, slaves and the different 2d type electorate) of their place is to declare that God ordained it that way and then produce a e book to instruct it. no depend how stimulated the authors have been or by utilising what source, the concepts had to clear out by way of their minds and personalities. The Bible became written by utilising men immersed in an historical patriarchal way of existence. all of them had agendas, no depend if it became protecting the social order, unifying doctrine, removing heresy or gaining converts. After reading it for years i've got concluded that that's a extraordinarily sparkling piece of propaganda. What I do fee interior the Bible is the story of Christ's existence and teachings. i think of He knew how misinterpreted and manipulated phrases can grow to be and for this reason lived in a manner that would desire to enable us to stick to in His footsteps inspite of what all and sundry wrote approximately Him. The links under objectively component the origins of the Bible (a million & 2) besides with the aid of fact the inconsistencies and inaccuracies (3)

Right on. Evolution is the closest thing we have to fact about our origins.

Evolution only a theory? If you think this, you are conflating the scientific term 'theory' with 'hypothesis'. Look up the difference.

I suppose you also refute the theory of gravity and music theory.
