y = m*x + c

2 = m * 20 + c (1)
4 = m * 12 + c (2)

(1) - (2)

-2 = m * 8
m = - 1/4

2 = (- 1/4) * 20 + c
2 = -5 * c
c = 7

y = -1/4 x + 7

call the rate x and y the interest rate.
Take the two first points

y-24 =(24-20)/(1-2) *(x-1)

y= -4x +28 The other two poits verify
