I got an IUD put in back in April. When I didn't have my period as usual and was feeling as if I was pregnant I did one of those tests. It was negative. I still have not had a period since April. I was told that in a year's time I might not be having any more periods as a result of the IUD but for me it happened right away. It's been great!! I think the name of my IUD was Mirena or something like that.

Yes, it does. I took one of the digital tests and it came up positive. I went to the doctor that day to see if my IUD was in place. It was still there and I was five weeks pregnant. While there are hormones coming out of the IUD, they don't effect the hcg level detected for pregnancy tests. If you do come up pregnant, you should have the IUD removed so it doesn't cause problems. There's a chance of miscarriage though, but I heard it's worse to keep it in. Luckily that didn't happen to me and I'm 12 weeks pregnant today.

If you got pregnant while using an IUD, I have one too, you need to make an appt. to see if it slipped out. As far as a test being accurate i would assume so, but dont hold me to that. =)
