I got this email from a producer of the show i volunteer to work on, just to get the credit.

"We need a stage manager for Dark of the Moon. Suzy, who was originally
going to be our stage manager, got a job with "Pirates of Penzance" so
not only does she have a real gig, but she's going to get her equity
card as well. We definitely can't begrudge her that!"

I was the Assit of the girl Suzy, so she left and i wanted to give all my free time to the show. One of the producer who wrote this email, told me they wouldn't hire anyone to replace Suzy b/c i am there already. And look at the email i got.

Please tell me what u think, b/c i think of giving it up and give my time to people who will appreciate it.

In this business, you've got to speak up for yourself kiddo. No one is going to hand you anything. Let them know you want the job (because you've already been the Assist). If they say "no" to your face then weigh your options carefully. If you can move on and not burn bridges, then do it. If not, finish what you started there while you look for the next opportunity.

Send an email back asking to confirm that you will replace Suzy. If she was getting paid, you should also.

Hey she got a real job out of it. Might be worth a try, you'll get experience at least.

Most people give their eye teeth for a shot at even a non-paying job.
