It is relatively easy to turn it off heres how:

1) Click start, then control panel

2) Click "switch to classic view" in upper left-hand corner

3) Double click on "Windows Firewall"

4) In the window that appears click the "off" box near the bottom

5) Click "OK" and you're set

Just remember that you are not as safe without a firewall protecting your computer from hackers. It is only good to turn off Windows Firewall, if you use a third-party firewall like "Comodo Personal Firewall" that offers much better protection. Comodo Firewall has garnered a PC Magazine "Editors Choice" award for Its technical excellence.

I didn't think you could have windows firewall without sp2. Well, try looking in control panel for Windows Firewall or Security Center.
