On "Deja Vu," right after Beyonce says "808" that drum sound you hear is the 808.
The Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer was one of the first programmable drum machines ("TR" serving as an acronym for "Transistor Rhythm").

They are not talking about the area code for Hawaii(808).

I think it's an area code, they're not the only ones who say that. 808 is a Hawaii area code so maybe they're trying to send little messages in their songs about a vacation and/or special moment spent there.
