i've never done this sort of thing for her before though. jane is one of my real friends, we talk on the phone and on yahoo messenger, we e-mail each other daily, i've actually known her for about three years. she has her own fashion business and has goods over in benin, that one of her client's needs 250, so that it can be released to her. i haven't had any dealings with her clients before. i think this is safe, because it's her money she want's me to send, if it was my own i would refuse to do it. problem is! she know's me really well and has all of my details, house address and stuff, my parents don't know her though. me and jane only knew each other for about 6 months, untill she moved to texas. does this sound safe. i know there are scammers in nigeria, senegal, liberia and ivory coast are the worst. it's her money she wants me to send, jane also want to give me 500, because i am out of work, should i accept money from friends. this is something i wouldn't usually do.

scammers in senegal, not so many. at least not as bad as it is in nigeria.
all she is asking you is to send her own money (via Western Union?), so what is the problem? it is very common to send money instantly via western union anywhere in the world. just make sure you put her name and her address as well as give her the secret code, she will get without any problem. check with her again that she has the clients details if she wants you to send to the clients. it's only a service she's asking you. if you are suspicious, then her her own money in texas, and let her deal with the transfer to benin herself.
about receiving money from friends because you are out of work, well... depends on what the level of friendship is. you could take it as a loan and pay back when you have a job. if you do not desperately need it, leave things as they are, don't let money get involved in your friendship, it's the recipe for disaster.

If it's 'her money' there's no reason she can't get an international money order as easily as you can. This is VERY suspicious.

The CIA Factbook has the following cautions with regard to Benin:
"transshipment point for narcotics associated with Nigerian trafficking organizations and most commonly destined for Western Europe and the US; vulnerable to money laundering due to a poorly regulated financial infrastructure"

I'd say you are playing with fire. Myspace is not the place to do business of any sort. Have you not been keeping up with internet protocols and warnings? At the very least - you should already know that YOU NEVER EVER GIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION OF ANY SORT OVER THE COMPUTER AT ANY TIME WHATSOEVER. What is a customer doing asking for your personal information anyway?

The last sentence of your question is the answer. Don't do it. Why doesn't your friend do this? Plus they want to give you 500 to do it. Remember, if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Don't put yourself at risk.
